Line-of-Sight (LOS) Multichannel Radio Terminal AN/TRC-190 provides the primary point-to-point radio connection between the various nodes of the MSE network. It also provides radio links to interconnect the node switch NS with the AN/TTC-46 LENS, AN/TTC-48 SENS, and radio access units (RAU). The terminal comes in four assemblages (V1, V2, V3, and V4). The V1 provides the radio links to the SENS and RAU sites. The V3 provides radio links to interconnect the node centers. The V4 provides the radio links to interconnect the LENS to a node center. The V2 version is a North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NAT) analog interface unit and is normally found only at corps level. It provides a radio link and interface between U.S. and NATO units. Functional characteristics of the radio include: frequency band 1 - 225 to 400 MHz, frequency band 2 - 1350 to 1850 MHz, highly directional antennas, engineer orderwire, secure digital voice orderwire, and radio relay capability (V3 only). All versions of the radio terminal are contained in a S-250 shelter and transported on a HMMWV. Power is provided by a PU-751/M 5-kw trailer- mounted diesel generator set. All versions of the radio terminal are configured basically the same; the major difference is the number of radios installed inside the shelter to terminate the radio link.
